Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the app lock navigation when a task is in progress?
This is intentional to help children stay focussed and avoid distractions. Your child can return to today's task list to see upcoming tasks, but must complete the current task first.
What is the 24-hour auto-approval feature?
If you don't review your child's submitted tasks within 24 hours, they automatically receive full stars (3 stars). This encourages parents to stay engaged whilst ensuring children aren't left waiting indefinitely for rewards.
Can I use both Google and Apple sign-in?
Yes, but avoid using Apple's "Hide My Email" feature as it creates a completely new user account each time, preventing access to your existing data.
Why don't schedule changes appear in my child's task list?
Schedule changes only apply if your child hasn't started today's tasks yet. Once they begin, changes will take effect the next day to avoid confusion during active sessions.
Can I reorder tasks for specific days?
No, task order is applied globally across all days. This reduces cognitive load - your child will always know that Task A comes before Task B without having to remember daily variations.
Can I run the app for multiple children simultaneously?
You'll need separate devices for each child to run concurrent sessions. Each profile works independently and requires its own device for the timer and focus features to work properly.
Can I use Oh Yah! in a classroom or tutoring setting?
No, Oh Yah! is designed exclusively for parents and guardians to help manage their children's routines at home. For terms of use, please refer to our
Terms & Conditions.
How do I give more than 3 stars for exceptional work?
Simply grant additional rewards after the initial review. You can award extra stars anytime to recognise outstanding effort or quality.
I accidentally gave too many stars. How do I adjust?
Go to your child's profile, select "Redeem Rewards," and deduct the appropriate amount from their total stars.
Why can I only see 7 days of task history?
Oh Yah! focuses on building daily routines, not long-term task tracking. The 7-day history provides enough context to see recent patterns whilst keeping the app simple and focussed on current habits.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Parent Mode, then Settings, and select "Delete Account". This will permanently remove all your data and cannot be undone.
